WATCH: The most versatile piece of equipment on the F1 grid

At the start of the 2020 Hungarian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen crashed on the reconnaissance lap to the grid in the slippery conditions.

Que the mad scramble to fix his car, as mechanics had to fix the front right suspension and front wing with just 15 minutes to go until the start.

This is where the grid trolly comes into play. It is one of the most important pieces of equipment used by teams, as it contains all of the tools mechanics may need in the event of an emergency.

From there mechanics will have access to tools they need to make quick fixes to what can sometimes be complex operations. Mercedes Chief Mechanic, Matt Deane, tells us what makes the grid trolley such a crucial tool.
