For the first time in 2023, Daniel Ricciardo is behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car as he takes part in a Pirelli tyre test at Silverstone.

Two days after the British Grand Prix, the Australian is driving the RB19 as Pirelli get vital on-track testing time as they continue their development.

After the two-day test, a vote is set to be held as teams decide whether to adopt the ban on tyre blankets for 2024, although it is understand that the numbers for the vote to pass are not there, meaning blankets will continue on into next season.

As Ricciardo got to grips with the all-conquering RB19, he went for a spin down at Luffield - the very same place where Nyck de Vries - who reports in Dutch media are suggesting has lost his AlphaTauri seat with immediate effect - did so on Friday during the Grand Prix weekend.
