Charles Leclerc has quite a history with Bahrain in Formula 1.
He claimed his first pole position and podium finish in 2019 with Ferrari, and should have won the race but for an electrical problem robbing him of power allowing Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas to nip by the ailing Monegasque.
In 2022, he claimed victory in the season-opener and looked set to launch a championship challenge, but other factors derailed his bid.
However, before he even got to F1, Leclerc put in what will be one of the most stunning performances of his entire career during the Formula 2 sprint race.
A little bit of context: pit-stops aren't needed in the F2 sprint, but with seven laps to go in Sakhir, Leclerc's Prema squad hauled him in for for fresh tyres falling to 14th place.
