When developing a car, Formula 1 teams naturally adhere to the regulations as far as possible, but that does not mean that irregularities will not occur during a Grand Prix weekend. So how do teams ensure their cars are always within the regulations?

Prior to a Grand Prix weekend, the teams painstakingly assemble their cars. In theory, at least, the design of an F1 car complies with all FIA rules, but irregularities may occur during its assembly.

So how does a team check before and during a Grand Prix weekend that their car is still legal and is not at risk of disqualification? That question is answered by Joe Robinson, Head of Trackside Integration at Aston Martin.
