Alpine drivers Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon took a break from Formula 1 this week to attend the prestigious Ballon d'Or football awards.

Held in Paris on Monday night, the ceremony confirmed the best male and female footballers of the year, with Paris Saint-Germain's Lionel Messi and Barcelona's Alexia Putellas taking home the respective prizes.

Alonso and Ocon played an important role by ensuring that the 'Golden Ball' trophies arrived at the venue safely, taking to the stage in suits and special helmets.
