Cyril Abiteboul has finally got the tattoo he promised he would to honour a bet made with Daniel Ricciardo in 2020.
Former Renault boss Abiteboul made a pact with Ricciardo, then a driver for the team, that he would get a tattoo of Ricciardo's choosing if the Australian scored a podium during 2020.
Ricciardo claimed a podium at the 2020 Eifel Grand Prix at the Nurburgring and, as a result, Abiteboul was honour-bound to get a tattoo.
A year of planning
It took a while to organise the tattoo, with Abiteboul departing his role at Renault and Ricciardo moving on to McLaren at the end of the 2020 season.
But ahead of the two final races in 2021, Abiteboul and Ricciardo managed to meet up together in a London tattoo studio and honour the deal.
