Impressive driver lineup to join Verstappen in replacement Imola race

A host of professional racing drivers will join Max Verstappen in the Real Racers Never Quit event.

Max Verstappen will be joined by a host of professional racing drivers to race in an online event at the Imola circuit, following the cancellation of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

Verstappen's sim racing outfit Team Redline, with whom Verstappen competes in numerous virtual races, will revive their Real Racers Never Quit event, which was used during the COVID outbreak in 2020.

Following the confirmation of the event, which takes place at 15:30 CET on Sunday May 21, a host of drivers from the Red Bull stable, Formula E and Formula 2 have been announced for the event.

Formula E World Champion Antonio Felix da Costa will take part in the event, as will series rival Oliver Rowland and Formula 1 reserve drivers Jack Doohan (Alpine) and Felipe Drugovich (Aston Martin and reigning Formula 2 champion).

Joining them will also be Formula 2 racers Ayumu Iwasa, Isack Hadjar, Enzo Fittipaldi, Richard Verschoor and Jak Crawford.

Stars from Formula 3, Australian Supercars, and the sim racing world will also complete a comprehensive grid for the event.

Although no specific details have yet been revealed for event, the teaser graphic appeared to show a Formula 3 car.
