Four drivers are set to start the United States Grand Prix from the pit-lane, owing to setup changes made under parc ferme conditions.
Haas drivers Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg along with both Aston Martin drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso, are set to start the 56-lap race from the pits, leaving 16 cars to take to the grid.
Setup parameter changes were made to each of the cars having qualified on the grid in the midfield, with Magnussen originally 14th, Hulkenberg 16th, Alonso 17th, and Stroll 19th.
Haas had introduced a large-scale upgrade to its VF-23, with the team electing to change components and make set-up changes to both cars, which incurs a pit-lane start.
As for Stroll and Alonso, Aston Martin will run split specifications between the two, with Stroll taking the upgraded AMR23 (but with set-up changes hence the pit-lane start) while Alonso reverts to the Qatar spec to compare the two over a race distance.
The removal of the four cars from the grid should promote Daniel Ricciardo to 14th, Alex Albon to 15th and Logan Sargeant to 16th.
