Ferrari has revealed that it will launch its 2024 Formula 1 car on February 13, just over two weeks before the start of the new season.

The Italian squad enters the campaign hoping to build on a difficult 2023 that saw it slip to third place in the Constructors' standings.

It commenced the campaign hoping to challenge Red Bull for the World Championship having secured four race wins in 2022.

However, it faced a number of challenges including reliability concerns and botched strategy calls.

It prevailed at the Singapore Grand Prix with Carlos Sainz, marking the only race during the year that Red Bull failed to win.

Ferrari's championship drought stretches back to 2008 when it won the Constructors' Championship for the 16th time.

“The launch will take place on the 13th of February, the day before Valentine's Day,” confirmed Team Principal Frederic Vasseur.

However, the Frenchman would not reveal any further details, including the name of the challenger: “You will see the rest on the 13th.”

Vasseur has asserted that the team is adamant that it will have a calmer approach to setting expectations next year.

Explaining why Ferrari has opted to launch its 2024 car one day earlier compared to last year, Vasseur revealed it was due to a tight schedule to get the cars ready for pre-season testing.

“We have the test a bit earlier and it's it's quite a challenge to put everything together, we had no other option,” he said.

“I think that some of our teams are doing it on the 14th. But it's quite challenging to be already for Bahrain.”
