Charles Leclerc officially topped the first practice session for the Las Vegas Grand Prix as running was abandoned due to loose drain covers.
10 minutes into the session, Carlos Sainz pulled over on the Strip having hit a loose drain cover, causing the Ferrari to ground immediately to a halt.
Esteban Ocon's Alpine also sustained serious damage, forcing them into a chassis change after hitting a drain.
Leclerc topped the session, but no real running was achieved, with the FIA evaluating the situation.
